| Hello, I'm Brad Bradley, and I'm a Master Tailor from the planet Rori in the Naboo system (Kettemoor server). Please feel free to visit my expanded, newly restocked shop in the city of Sirtet, at /waypoint -1315 4019!
I've prepared this web page to help you and your tailor (whether it's me or not) have a more productive and more enjoyable time picking out clothes for your character in Star Wars: Galaxies. | ![]() |
If what you're wearing is pants and a shirt, then your outfit isn't done until you add a jacket or a vest. Period. End of story. If you don't think so, go back and watch the Star Wars movies that are set during this time period, and find me an adult who isn't wearing a jacket or a vest. (Exception: Jackets and vests are not worn with dresses or robes.)
However, there are also a couple of seriously ugly pieces of clothing in this category. I'll highlight the default choices, and warn you away from the things that are most likely to get you laughed at behind your back.
Belted Jacket: 750 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Casual II. Shirt: Standard color. Vest: Standard color. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. This is the jacket that Rebel command officers wear during this time period, in exactly these colors. |
Belted Vest: 1300 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Vest. Requires: Casual IV. Vest: Standard color, trim is always brown. Belt: Standard color, trim is always brown. SC Enhance? One at double cost. A very nice vest, has sort of a "martial arts" feel to it. You can do some interesting things with it in terms of color combinations and what you pair it with. |
Casual Jacket: 550 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Domestic III. Jacket: Standard color. Some people look down their noses at this out of sheer snobbery, since even low level Artisans can make it in a perfectly good black. Don't let them stop you, especially if you're looking for a kind of generic biker jacket. I think this is one of the best looking jackets in the game, one of the few that really looks good in black. |
Cloak: 1100 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Cloak. Requires: Casual III. Cloak: Leather color. Don't think of it as a duster or a trenchcoat, it's too bulky. What it really is, is a floor length fur coat, like a mink. But it's a really good mink coat. |
Cold Weather Jacket: 650 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Fieldwear I. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. Another really good looking jacket, and 3/4 of the tailors in the game should be able to make it for you. Because of its attractive styling and minimal cost to upgrade, I recommend this one (in white) to medics who are looking for a jacket with passive biosensors. |
Crested Vest: 1300 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Vest. Requires: Casual IV. Vest: 2 standard colors. SC Enhance? One at double cost. Eww. OK, I can just barely imagine this, with a very muted "crest" color, worn with a Sidebuttoned Shirt, intended to be some kind of weird officer's uniform. But - no. I hate this piece. You are going to look silly if you wear it. |
Decorative Vest: 900 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Vest. Requires: Formal II. Vest and Belt: Standard color. Scarf and Trim: Standard color. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. This, on the other hand, may be the best looking vest in the game. Stick with something conservative for the vest, like black or dark brown. Now make the other color almost anything, even the brightest colors, and you get this marvelous "aviator scarf" look that's unbeatable. |
Desert Command Jacket: 1650 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Fieldwear III. Jacket: Accessory color. Scarf, Straps, and Trim: Standard color. RFP Enhance? One at double cost. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. An excellent jacket, especially in brown or tan with a contrasting (but not too bright) scarf. |
Dress Uniform Jacket: 1700 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Formal IV. Sleeves: Standard color. Trim and Transparent Shoulder Guards: Standard color. Waist "Armor": Metal color. SC Enhance? One at triple cost. |
Flared Jacket: 1025 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Formal II. Restriction: Women only. Jacket: Standard color. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. |
Gunman's Duster: 1200 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Robe. Requires: Fieldwear IV. Duster: Leather color. SC Enhance? One at four times the normal cost. This is what everybody in the game who has no imagination is wearing - this jacket in black with black pants and a black (or maybe white) shirt. |
Heavy Reinforced Jacket: 1650 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Fieldwear III. Jacket: Standard color. RFP Enhance? One at double cost. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. The other "biker" jacket. Some people love it. I think it's over-compensating for something. |
Labour Jacket: 750 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Domestic IV. Jacket: Standard color. It's clearly meant to be part of a uniform, but it really is too poorly fitted. Unless you're really determined, go with something else. |
Long Formal Jacket: 1700 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Formal IV. Jacket: Only available in a few shades of gray or tan. SC Enhance? One at triple cost. This is your standard Imperial Officer uniform jacket. It's meant to be worn with matching Dress Slacks and black Uniform Boots or High Quality Boots. Because of the color palette issues, for best results in color matching, have your tailor make the jacket first, then match the pants to it by eye. |
Long Vest: 1300 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Vest. Requires: Casual IV. Vest: Standard color. SC Enhance? One at double cost. |
Mangy Vest: 750 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Vest. Requires: Casual II. Vest: Accessory color. SC Enhance? Yes. Probably should be avoided. It's very bulky, and sort of dirty looking. Might be acceptable to some scouts, but I can't recommend it. |
Padded Jacket: 700 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Novice Tailor. Jacket: Standard color. Shoulder Pads: Standard color. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. This is your default police, militia, or civilian paramilitary uniform jacket, the best Player Association uniform jacket in the game. For best results, specify your own two contrasting colors, then combine it with matching Striped Pants or Thin Striped Pants and black Dress Shoes or Uniform Boots. |
Pilot's Jacket: 2300 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Casual IV. Jacket: Standard color. Upper Trim: Accessory color. SC Enhance? One at triple cost. I've changed my mind on this jacket. I used to think it was cool, but that super-short waistline makes it look like you're the kind of nerd who tucks his suit-coat into his pants Most people should buy the Cold Weather Jacket instead. (Besides, it's cheaper.) |
Pullover: 750 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Vest. Requires: Casual II. Vest: Standard color, slightly faded. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. As a vest, this is a hideous mistake. On the other hand, topped off with the right boots and gloves, this is an excellent outfit for female dancers, on whom it looks a lot like a minidress. Because of some color issues, if you're trying to match the Pullover to any other part of the outfit, have your tailor make the Pullover first. |
Reinforced Pullover: 2300 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Casual IV. Sleeves: Two Standard colors. Vest: Standard color. Over-Vest: Standard color. SC Enhance? One at triple cost. |
Reinforced Jacket: 650 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Fieldwear I. Jacket: Standard color. Trim: Standard color? SC Enhance? One at normal cost. Not a bad jacket. Not one of my favorites, but not bad. Stay conservative on the trim; when in doubt, stick with black or white. |
Rugged Jacket: 850 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Novice Tailor. Jacket: Standard color. Trim: Standard color. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. A very good jacket, but stay away from bright colors, not for the jacket or for the trim, or it looks garish. (I had to learn this lesson the hard way.) On the other hand, in almost exactly this default color scheme, it's the jacket that Luke Skywalker wore to receive his medal for destroying the Death Star. |
Scout Jacket: 750 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Casual II. Jacket: Standard color. Scarf: Standard color. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. A bit strange. |
Short Vest: 1300 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Vest. Requires: Casual IV. Vest: 2 standard colors. SC Enhance? One at double cost. |
Shortsleeve Jacket: 400 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Domestic II. Jacket: Standard color. An excellent jacket, with perhaps the best detailing of any of them. Women should probably wear it over a Shortsleeve Shirt or a bustier. Men should probably wear it over a Muscle Shirt. |
Simple Vest: 750 Vest credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Vest. Requires: Casual II. Vest: Accessory color, very faded and dull. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. This is an OK vest - if you stick to tan or gray. In any other color, it looks like you haven't washed it in years. |
Sleeveless Jacket: 2300 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Casual IV. Vest: Standard color. SC Enhance? One at triple cost. |
Spec-Ops Duster: 1650 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Fieldwear III. Duster: 2 leather colors, mottled in a sort of muted camouflage pattern. RFP Enhance? One at double cost. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. The camo pattern on this is too subtle, really, so it looks a little weird. Which is why most tailors make it in one solid color, turning it into a more readily available (but more expensive) Gunman's Duster with bulky pockets. It's a shame that it's got this sort of gray mottled pattern on it that really shows up when it's solid white, because for technical reasons, it makes a great medic's lab coat when equipped with Active Biosensors (or even Passive Biosensors if your budget doesn't stretch that far.) |
Suit Jacket: 1025 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Formal II. Jacket: Standard color, ends up darker than normal. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. An excellent jacket, if a little severe looking because of its high collar. Because of color palette issues, if you're trying to make it match the pants, have the tailor make the pants first, not the jacket. If you are trying to match them, I strongly recommend the Comfortable Pants and Dress Shoes. |
Tight Jacket: 750 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Casual II. Vest: Accessory color. Sleeve Trim: Standard color. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. Unless it's Christmas time, and you're trying to dress as an elf, or unless it's Halloween, and you're trying to dress as one of Robin Hood's "merry men," run away from this ugly piece of trash as fast as you can. |
Vested Jacket: 1025 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Formal II. Jacket: Standard color. Vest: Standard color. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. Perhaps the best possible jacket for scouts and others who want to look like they spend a lot of time in the wilderness hunting big game. |
Wooly Jacket: 750 credits.![]() Bazaar/Vendor Category: Jacket. Requires: Novice Tailor. Coat: Leather color. SC Enhance? One at normal cost. A perfectly good winter coat, but the neckline's a bit too feminine to look quite right on most guys. |
